Levelled up over 2000 Merchants a bid too soon, without having my book production in place, however slowly making progress

My starting area, took all the houses out to the large southwest area and use this as production:


My main city area:


second production area, just moved wheat from the top north to the middle, with the intention to fill this up again with something else, likely pioneers:


The latest addition will become book and leather jacket production area, any suggestions welcome!

my small hemp island, still in search for a mediums sized one, so try to minimise investments here:


And my medium herb island, working on moving some other general production here as well, just need to closely monitor the shipping lanes:
